> You're having difficulty recalling a time period but the decoration and attire suggest this taking place a long time ago, perhaps at the peak of human beliefs in Youkai and Magic?  As for a location, it's definitely not western but you'd need to find a map to tell precisely where you are.  Though they'd probably only include friendly territories with only a vague outline of anything outside.

> Taking another look around you deduce the two identically dressed ladies behind the 'princess' must be her maids.  The room is decorated very ornately, and together with the 'Lead Minister' title you were just referred to as suggest you must be a very high ranking official.

> A few thoughts come to mind: perhaps it's benign like cherry concentrate which tastes awful if consumed directly, or it could be something more sinister?  If it is something sinister how did it appear in your room?  Is it something you confiscated and aren't remembering or is there someone around with malicious intents?

> The bed you woke up in, the table at the end of the bed, various shelves, a few lanterns, a handful of vases on the shelves, another table near the window with various documents and writing utensils on it and a flower pot that has a small yet carefully pruned tree growing in it.

> You find it very difficult to remember anything from so long ago.  In the rare occasions you do happen to recall a memory it's usually triggered by something you see or hear or a particular scent.  You suppose it's similar to how one can forget about an object or location to the point they can't describe it yet instantly recognize it upon coming across it again.

> The footsteps approach the door which slides open and in comes a blonde lady wearing a long light purple dress in a similar style to yours.  This must be "Miss Lavender" the maids mentioned earlier.
> In a serious tone "Lead Minister, everything you've requested has been prepared for tonight."
> She sets down a basket on the table and asks "Do you require my assistance changing into formal robes or shall I call a maidservant?"
