Shadow of a Deal
« on: October 12, 2021, 02:10:42 AM »
>"Then we have a bargain. . ."
>Cold rams itself into your head like a piston.  Your memories pour out like so much water in a broken cup.  The name given at your birth leaves you then darkness greets.

>You awaken to the thud of your body hitting flesh.  Around you are cool still bodies wrapped in white linen.  A thud draws your attention to another body landing in the pile and two men in overalls hefting bodies from high above into the dark pit your in.

>"Heh, with all this bait we should'a gone fique fishing, George.  Heard Berts paying a pretty penny for them."
>"If you want to get eaten that's your business.  Now shut yer gob and toss faster.  Don't want to be out longer than we gots."

>A red full moon illuminates your surroundings.  It now is apparent that your in a cavern near a wall made with pale grey bricks.  Straining your ears you can hear the quiet bubbling of water nearby.  It looks like the bricks gave wave making the opening that the two men are using.  Unlike the other bodies you are not covered in wrappings.

>Please choose your appearance

>Some of the bodies look like regular humans while others are warped to a breath taking degree. In between the wraps feathers, scales, and human flesh can be seen on the various cadavers and in every combination.  Large yellow scabs on swollen skin cover every body in the pile.

>Red florescent fungus grows all around in the moonlight.  Rats are scurrying everywhere with some illuminated by red fungus growing on them.  One turns to look at you.  A tendril of red fungus is growing into an empty eye socket of the rat from the head.

>You can see more fungus growing in areas with moonlight.  The red florescent florescent light reflects off water as the water slowly makes its way through man made channels.

> Whatever we were, surely we had a pretty striking appearance to not be wrapped up like the others.
> Check our other senses. Hopefully no smell of decay or similarly bad.

>Unfortunately the smell of decay fills the air along with ammonia.
->Under the more prominent smells of the bodies there is the lingering smell of fish and squid.  From the fungus comes a thick sweet smell mixed with rotting meat.

>The air is cool and damp, but there is a feeling of Evil.  Rats squeak as water bubbles in the darkness and occasionally you hear a buzzing sound coming from the dark and from the red fungus.

>The bandages aren't the same on the bodies.  Some are smooth and slick, regular bandages, and others feel like they are made of blankets.

>"Just five more and we can head ome."

> Let's worry about how we look after we get out of here. Those men seem like they'll leave after a few more bodies without doing anything further to here, so our best bet is to sit tight and think of how to get out.
> Getting their attention could result in an easier escape and more information about the situation, but also risks much worse if we shouldn't be alive...

>"Oye, I think I saw one of them move."
> A body lands on top of you.
>"Has you're head gone soft, the plague got them.  Sides if they were alive the squilves and pilates will fix that," The thud of more bodies landing in the pile fill your ears.

>The men disappear from sight.  You are alone in a pile of bodies with the sound of babbling water.

> Do we feel alright? As in, decently good? Its unlikely we feel well rested, but do we feel ill or like we're just having a crappy month in general?
