> Flipping physical things upside down comes naturally, however it's somewhat hit or miss when it comes to more 'abstract' concepts such as opacity or taste.  Generally you find that the more well defined the two opposites are like opaque/transparent, sweet/bitter the better you do.  You have a hunch it also helps for the target to be at one of the two extremes?

> Sariel nods "She was quite nice to us and offered to help with the writing.  The demons and mages I usually work with see everything as a transaction where knowledge is currency and magic is prestige."

> It's almost within sight!
> Youkai used to not be welcome in the village but that's changed to a degree since the spell card system.  While none of the village regulations explicitly prohibit Youkai from visiting or conducting business in the village there's some that clearly target them indirectly.  For example only those who maintain a residence within the village may be present from sunset to sunrise.  Which automatically excludes nearly all Youkai!

> Sariel hops out of your arms and takes a few steps forward and pauses to focus before summoning her staff and chanting something in an unfamiliar language.  "I-I'm not sure?  I-it feels like the same source of magic but something doesn't make sense...  Did you not mention that this Iris appeared a few days ago?  This force field has been around for years, tens of years even?"
