how do i rebind to wasd?

hi all, i'm currently playing Touhou 6 and using the arrow keys feels unnatural to me as i've played most of my games with wasd. are there any programs or scripts i could use to rebind my controls? i've tried a bunch of ahk scripts but they bug out weirdly and my character moves by itself.
