> There you spot some guests arriving up the stairs, a fairly tall blonde lady and a very tall pink haired lady.  The blonde one appears to be carrying a small ornate wooden case and the pink one appears to have several small phantoms floating around her.

> The fairly tall blonde lady looks vaguely familiar, you might have had a run in with her when everyone was chasing you down.  You defeated countless small fry back then so for her to stand out sh probably had interesting attacks.

> Hang back, watching the steps to see who else arrives.

> Slowly walking and almost tripping on an invisible "last step" at the top of the staircase is a green haired shrine maiden who is staring intensely at some box she's holding in her hands, completely oblivious to her surroundings.  If a tree were to magically appear in front of her she'd surely walk right into it!

> After pausing for a moment she tells you "The other one's Yukari, she's like a mother to Reimu.  I've caught her secretly donating to the shrine at night and she's always there for Reimu when she's having a tough time even when she's being really stubborn and refuses any assistance"
