Forum RulesA set of guidelines that protect our community
* Content Guidelines

* No spamming
You don't like spam in your mailbox and neither do we!  We do not track post count so trying to inflate it with one-word or otherwise non constructive comments is useless and makes real information more difficult to find.

* A word on Advertising
Promoting your works (doujin games, soundtracks, translations etc.) is welcome!  However we ask that such threads contain actual content and not low-effort link spam.  Be persuasive, use images to your advantage, and explore the various forum BBCode features at your disposal to create unique and marketable posts!

* Work-safe materials only!
Posted materials must be work-safe, including text.  Non work safe materials may not be attached, embedded or linked to in posts!
Patchouli's Scarlet Library is partially exempt and threads may link to external websites hosting literary works whose plot includes light NSFW writing provided the thread title and any such links are both prefixed with (NSFW).

* Use the correct subforum and check sticky topics
It's easier for everyone to find threads they are interested in that way.  If you believe a thread is in the wrong subforum use the Report functionality to notify the staff to move it (it helps to include the subforum you believe to be the correct one).  Additionally if it's your first time posting in a particular subforum please check its stickies, chances are someone has asked a similar question before and the answer is just a few clicks away.

* Proper English helps get the message across
There are users from around the world and for many English is a second language, so slang might not translate well.  There is a built-in spell checker, please use it before submitting your posts. A word filter is enabled by default which replaces some inappropriate words with silly alternatives you can disable it for your account in the Profile -> Look and Layout settings under "Leave words uncensored". We ask that you refrain from bypassing it with variations, or using inappropriate words that aren't filtered.

* Personal Information
We advise all members to stay safe and avoid disclosing personally identifying or otherwise sensitive information on the forum or in private messages.  The staff will never ask for your name, address, credit card, etc.  If you receive messages requesting such information from anyone or someone claiming to be a member of our staff you are advised to ignore them and report the incident to the administration.  Revealing any individual's personal information is forbidden and will result in immediate removal from the community.  In addition, harvesting personal information through IP-trackers, grabbers, invisible images, etc. is not allowed.

* Technical Guidelines

* Bandwidth discretion
Please refrain from embedding images larger than 640x480px and 150kB per image and thumbnail or link to them instead.  Large embeds slow page load times, especially on large threads, and may cost users on metered connections money.

* Image hosting and Attachments
The web is constantly evolving, and as a result, images hotlinked from websites can become broken if those sites change or remove the images. Therefore, it's best to either mirror the images on your own server or use a dedicated image hosting service to embed them.
This forum supports attaching files directly to posts, feel free to use this to share replays, code, scripts and other data.  Attaching images is discouraged (unless images are related to code/scripts/data) as they consume our bandwidth while there are countless image hosting services freely available.

* Signatures
Signatures should not draw away attention from posts, as that defeats the purpose of a signature.  Images should not be taller than a total of 128px or animated.

* No linking/attaching copyrighted or illegal materials
Linking to websites that pirate copyrighted content is not allowed, as it will cause trouble for the forum.  Naming said websites or discussion of them is fine, just no links please!
Any mention of websites whose material in and of itself is considered illegal in the United States of America is strictly prohibited.

* Suggestions and changes

* Communities change over time, if you believe something isn't addressed properly or needs to be added or removed please let us know by creating a thread in Resurrection Butterfly.
