Also a subject of unearned amount of fandom attention purely on basis of being the only notable and attractive official male character.

I'll start with mine
I don't like Aya, i really don't. She's a fraud who publishes fake news a distorts reality and facts to her favor and also engages in fear mongering, she does it without feeling a gram of regret. Now you'll say "that's the point of her character" and i understand that, but it doesn't excuse the fact that she's a huge bastard. But you wanna know what really pushed me to dislike her? Her interview with Cirno. It's so, so mean-spirited, it feels like Aya intentionally made the article just to humiliate Cirno, this is evident when she admits that she wrote the article simply because she felt like it, not for any reason in particular. This is just messed up. She got a bit of redemption in AFoEU, but it's still not enough to make me like her

Yeah, Touhou has been through a lot of phases. The PC-98 era was a weird one. It was back when ZUN didn't really know what do with his world, the characters weren't very fleshed out also you get all the 4th wall breaks and the introduction of several iconic characters like Yuuka, Alice and Mima
