Since Seihou is related to Touhou, I would like to make a thread about it here in TARC, since it is very interesting to me. (Sorry for the horrible paragraphs in the beginning of every thread I make (╥﹏╥))
Anyway, the way I see it, is that it has the potential to be a different game series with Sci-Fi style and having some kind of "serious" lore (I'm loosely using serious here, it's not THAT serious, but serious enough that it's a bit darker than Touhou, like using children as soldiers.). But unfortunate things happen in life, it has become an obscure series, and the only reason we even know it exists, is because ZUN helped his juniors to make music for the first 2 Seihou games, and Ponchi (the guy who made Seihou Project) helped ZUN in programming for Touhou 6 to make a smooth transition from PC-98 to Windows.
So guys, what is in your mind about it?

Seihou is a series that's been on my games to play list for a really long time.
Maybe I should play it....

You could get Shuusou Gyoku on <link removed>
Don't link to downloads of pirated games. - Karisa
You could also use the emulator to play it: https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/ (https://sourceforge.net/projects/dxwnd/)
Ya know what, I wanna play too, lol

Yes,in fact the Seihou pPoject 西方 (West,Western,Occident,Occidental) with its 3 games, and an inspired-only 4th one, https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Seihou_Project setting on Future Earth,Moon and the few Space Stations around them IS both a bit darker, with some darker facts and hints than the the Touohu Project 東方(East,Eastern,Orient,Oriental)...such as https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Seihou_World a Tech-Future Future Earth turned mostly-exhausted and wastleland, provoking armed rebellions which needed quelling by the intervention of wider military forces and still a need at the present...
As for Seihou 西方 being its own series with its own good potential...Even though has some similarity and author&collaboaritive ties with Touhou 東方(Eastern,East,Oriental) (Zun/Jun'ya Ota ,the Earlier Amusement Makers studio team), it is is doubtless is own series with its own potential.
But would it blossom and grow without "various creative adaptions at a partial-crossover level with Touhou"? Those would be a good cross-support as long as they they are kept and developed balanced-wise meaning a full or major Seihou-Touhou Croosovers would have to be separate works, more loosely related.

Well, I played it, and sure enough I got my ass kicked! But that's what I get when I play the Hard difficulty. :p
-
Soo, what character from Seihou Project is your favorite? :cirnotan:
-
hakurei reimu the extra boss
-
Hakurei Reimu, my favourite Seihou character. It's so cool that they made a spin-off series about her.
-
Well, I like Marie, even though she can be a tad bit weirdo.
-
I like Gates, but that might be more because I like both of his themes.

Cool, since his themes are the coolest in the series. That's actually the reason why I like Marie, her boss theme is dramatic and menacing.

So, does anyone have ever played Seihou Banshiryuu?
