> She hesitantly nods and flies below your dress' layers to hide, while continuing to float as you don't feel any weight or encumbrance from her hiding.

> Walking into the market you observe it's built in a rough circle around a fountain.  The path from which you came leads back away from the ancient city, whereas the road on the other end of the circle leads to a large mansion on a small hill.  Several shops make up the market, with a few bars, food stalls and restaurants.  A handful appear to be under construction.  You notice a few liquor stores spread around the circle, one with quite a crowd around it likely due to it having a going out of business sale.

> You spot a mineral and gem shop which also claims to sell magical artifacts.  Perhaps there's other kinds of shops along the road on the opposite end leading towards the mansion?

> You come across a a blacksmith, a construction supply shop, a glaringly bright shop that spells "Electrical Light" on the billboard, a gambling supply store, an antiques 'n trinkets shop, and a rather generic looking shop aptly named "The General Store".

> They're "stand-alone" buildings built so close together they're actually connected on their sides, with a continuous front porch walkway.  Even their design and architecture is roughly matching, as if they were all constructed by the same builder.
> The gem shop is one of these buildings.

> You return to the market and step into the mineral store with the oversize crystal on it's billboard.  The inside is filled with shelves full of different minerals, ores, and rock formations.  With the entire city being underground you imagine they'd know a thing or two about caves and minerals...  A few things catch your eye, a glowing red crystal prominently on display, a sparkly golden pickaxe, and a pair of small dolls on the shopkeeper's counter.

> The red crystal has a rubber mallet sitting next to it, the pickaxe is sitting above a cracked boulder and the dolls are close enough to the shopkeeper you could probably just ask.
> The shopkeeper gave you a quick glance before returning to inspecting gems under a magnifying glass
> She's wearing dark clothes with many green ring decorations and doesn't appear to be an Oni?

> She sets her magnifying glass aside and passes you one of the dolls before pointing at the crystal and explaining "Tap it with the rubber mallet and see!"

> A bright fireball is shot out in the direction you tapped, which gets absorbed by a barrier surrounding the table it's displayed on.  Impressive!
> The doll suddenly talks! "Fascinating isn't it?  And entirely real too, this ain't no danmaku...  If only I knew a way to harness it's power in a controlled fashion, it'd cost a fortune!"
