Second WR update of this year: - SA Lunatic ReimuA 5,255,737,110 by ior ior made one last improvement in this game. I say last as I've heard all he wanted to do is make one more improvement in this category before quitting. I don't know if this is true or if he'll change his mind eventually but he did delete all of his scores from RF. This includes all scores and records he's gotten in DS this past year. - TD Extra Marisa 660,499,000 by leo This is a score that leo achieved in early 2020, but only recently did the exact score come to light and a video showcasing his replay. This replay was most likely uploaded as a video as a means of reference material for the upcoming TD Extra Scoring match in Touhou World Cup 2021, as he privated the video soon after. The video is no longer viewable, but you can still find it if you search in archives. You will have to go find it yourself to view it. I will not link you to one. - LoLK Lunatic Reisen 3,423,040,620 by ますこ (Masuko) ますこ managed to beat RB's relatively long standing overall record by 10 million. This is seemingly a new player who we don't know much about. He didn't submit any replay but it would be cool if RB got himself some genuine competition. RB himself is currently working on 3.2b with Sanae. - HSiFS Lunatic AyaAutumn 9,884,713,340 by そにつく (sonitsuku) sonitsuku made a huge improvement of 216 million as of recently. While this does make it seem that a counterstop is around the corner, given how many hours sonitsuku has already put into the game, I expect this won't yet happen. It's still possible there's some big improvements to be found however. - WBaWC Hard MarisaOtter 9,727,599,330 by にぼし (nibooji) nibooji got the record back from Borealis with a small improvement. He posted this about 2 months after achieving this, meaning he had this score in January already. |

WR update the third. - LLS Lunatic Marisa 141,398,870 by Miler. A few days ago upon posting this, Miler beat the overall Lunatic score by 18m, previously held by Pearl. To clarify, this is not the overall record, as this is still held on Hard. This was streamed on Twitch, but there's no highlight or upload. If you see this post within the next week and a half, you can still find it. - UFO Lunatic SanaeB 3,616,918,520 by K・G. K・G improved the overall record by an astonishing 109m. A huge improvement. His improvements allowed his ending PIV go from 127,050 to 131,030. - TD Extra Marisa 661,397,340 by morth. Yes morth returned to Touhou scoring, after an absence of several years and has put his focus on TD Extra. leo's record has been beating by almost a million, but morth has also improved the records of other characters for Extra, by a much greater margin. - DDC Lunatic SakuyaB 2,425,434,160 by kkkn. After several smaller improvements, kkkn passed two 100m thresholds, bringing the overall record to 2.4b. The only obvious big mistake that was made in this run is that kkkn failed the first Stage 6 spell. The last Stage 4 spell was capped that very often causes a death or bomb. - LoLK Lunatic Reisen 3,517,338,080 by RB. It's been about 1½ years since RB has been inactive, but perhaps when his overall record got stolen, he felt the need to make a comeback. As such he improved Masuko's run by 94m. - HSiFS Lunatic Aya-Autumn 9,921,611,140 by そにつく (sonitsuku). sonitsuku keeps milking the smallest improvements out of this category, as he now reached the final 100m threshold. The only milestone left is to counterstop, which is slowly looking more possible. But just possible for him, as he's still very far ahead of everyone else. This run has no replay or video I know of. - WBaWC Normal Marisa-Otter 7,961,100,100 by にぼし (nibooji, ISO). This run was actually done in March this year, but I wasn't aware of this one at the time. Nibooji decided to not upload this replay. Possibly he's waiting until the next billion is being achieved. Between now and the previous post UM (Unconnected Marketeers) has been released, which hasn't yet been implemented in the spreadsheet linked in the top post. I could edit this in but I don't want to break anything in regards to the miscellanous statistics, so I'll let Karisa do it. The overall records from Easy to Lunatic to Extra are respectively 1,786,214,730, 6,522,829,390, 9,999,999,990, 9,999,999,990 and 6,806,068,910. Yes the scoring system is even more broken than any other, so both Hard and Lunatic have already been counterstopped (Lunatic in the first day even). One peculiar thing is that coco, also known as st, achieved the overall Normal and Hard records. He's known for many records in EoSD to IN set around 2010 to 2015. |

To close out 2021, let's make one more post for this year to see what's happened to some records. - LLS Lunatic MarisaA 151,208,750 by Miler Miler has been dabbling in SoEW, LLS and MS for the past year or so and managed to now improve his LLS Lunatic score by 10m. Keep in mind MarisaA is not the optimal shot, but does have the easiest survival. This score is very close to beating the overall highest score. - EoSD Normal ReimuB 366,299,400 by int. One of MATSU's records from 2010-2013 has been beaten with an impressive 7m improvement. int has mainly been playing Normal and Extra for this game and it took him at least a couple of years to beat MATSU's record. - PCB Hard ReimuB 2,854,468,430 by sp0. One of coco's old records has been beaten as well! Hard turns out to be a pretty unoptimized category for today's standards. sp0 has stated that this score he got isn't very good. From memory I do believe he's made some major mistakes in this run. It's likely Hard can be pushed to 3 billion. - UFO Extra SanaeB 757,607,400 by ニャムニャム (Nyamunyamu). The UFO Extra score has gone up by 17 million. This big increase in score mainly comes from a grazing optimization on Kogasa's final spell, where you basically attempt to go inside the ring of lasers more often. This does make the luck factor alot greater however since you have to rely on the 1/3 chance of Kogasa moving away from you more. Just before Nyamunyamu's score, IwanaM (the IN Lunatic Ghost Team player) took the old record of 740m first with a score of 754,394,030. - LoLK Normal Reisen 3,038,789,390 by RB. RB revisited Normal as he participated in Play for Score 2 and made an improvement of just over 200m. That means that the overall Hard record currently scores lower than Normal. RB did say he has no intention of coming back to Hard anytime soon. He has recently cracked 3.3b on Lunatic with Sanae and 2.7b with Marisa. - LoLK Lunatic Reisen 3,626,929,660 by RB. Before the above Normal record, RB also further improved the highest scoring category to break yet another 100m barrier! - UM Easy Sakuya 1,862,188,110 by TSG. TSG managed to get his first record. This run even beat JMST's run that's not deemed legitimate because it manipulates the shop to produce ideal luck from the first credit. TSG appears to have been playing this category on and off, given that he commented to have played this category for about 20 hours. - UM Extra Sakuya 7,371,092,700 by Borealis. Borealis beat Suiren's Extra score by over 500m. This score actually gets pretty close to kopiapoa's TAS score, but this category will be very hard to optimize at this point if the strategies remain the same. Borealis said that 7.5b should be possible to get. One more thing is that Alan actually uploaded the replay of his overall IN record from 2018 to replay.royalflare. This run had previously not been uploaded anywhere. |

First 2022 update! - LLS Lunatic MarisaA 154,393,090 by Miler. The overall record in LLS (that was held on Hard Mode) has been beaten. There is still alot of improvements left in this category however. A theoretical max for the safe route is about 175m and 190m for the current best route. Miler currently set his sights on a goal of 165m. - MS Lunatic Mima 202,717,620 by Miler. The first 200 million in the maingame of MS has happened! Miler has been grinding this category for about a year to finally take the record from Starshine. Miler's survival skill is what gives him an edge. There's some scoring tricks he still can include. His final goal is 220 million. - MoF Hard MarisaC 2,067,768,430 by LYX. As usual there's no replay from LYX. He's posted this score on his Twitter. On his Twitter he's also stated that he doesn't want to post scores on leaderboards that only allow replay files as evidence. - SA Hard MarisaB 2,082,838,020 by STI. STI came onto the scene to beat Cerasis' old score by 31 million. - UFO Extra SanaeB 776,144,040 by ニャムニャム (Nyamunyamu). Nyamunyamu keeps going crazy. Since the last post, the UFO Extra record has gone up by almost 20 million! In that time, he's posted new records four times (762m on 30 January, 770m on 10 Febuary, 772m on 10 March and now 776m on 4 April). - HSiFS Extra Aya 3,485,097,930 by みょん吉 (myon). myon has been grinding HSiFS Extra for a while and beat three of the four records so far. Cirno being the only one left as of this post. myon also has shottype records in DDC, WBaWC and UM. - UM Extra Sakuya 7,665,770,150 by idtn. idtn beat Borealis' Sakuya score, raising the UM Extra record from 7.371b to 7.665b. A big improvement in this run comes from timing down the 8th spell more. This spell is buggy and eventually gets to a point where the spawn clouds stay active, making the dodging impossible, but this can be abused to bomb the spell and get an extremely high amount of gold items. This improvement has also been implemented in other shottypes. Between the last post and this post, there's been alot of competition between Borealis and idtn. RB also popped up to now hold the Marisa record. |

Summer update! - SoEW Lunatic ReimuA 48,541,620 by Miler. Miler made a huge improvement on the SoEW record, making more effective use of his bombs. His end goal is 50m. If a new route isn't possible, this will unfortunately come down to luck. - LLS Lunatic MarisaA 155,733,380 by Haniyasuko Okina. After playing LLS actively for the past year, he was able to get good enough to beat Miler's old record of 154.3m. He gets the advantage of using a much better scoring route than Miler. His route however is not yet optimal. The potential of the current best Lunatic route lies around 190m. with MarisaA. With ReimuB (the best shottype), this would lie more around 193m. - EoSD Lunatic ReimuB 753,512,030 by いずみこ (izumico). It's been around 3 years or so, but izumico was finally able to get a new PB that also clears. This score however is much worse than his old 749m run. That score Game Overed on Remilia's third spell and had the potential of getting 800m. This is an incredibly difficult category to finish a run of. The current potential lies at 923m, perhaps even higher! - SA Normal MarisaA 1,228,844,210 by ZJM. ZJM beat the Normal overall record with MarisaA, formerly done with ReimuA. That now means that all maingame categories except Lunatic have their overall records done with MarisaA. This is because MarisaA gets 8 bombs. While short, they can be heavily abused to graze more. On Lunatic, ReimuA would score more mainly due to the items during the Stage 4 midboss. MarisaA would perform very badly to get these compared to ReimuA. - TD Extra Marisa 664,795,430 by morth. morth improved his relatively recent PB by a respectable 3 million. This was achieved during the preparation of his World Cup match against idtn. - DDC Lunatic SakuyaB 2,496,080,040 by kkkn. kkkn went even more mad on this category! He's now very close to hitting 2.5 billion. He could've gotten it during this run, as he made two big mistakes. In this run he died failed a 2.0 chain after the Stage 5 midboss and died on the nonspell of the Stage 6 midboss. - DDC Extra MarisaB 1,240,979,630 by Marisa. Marisa has been pretty active with this category, making several very small improvements. It's unclear whether any new routes or strategies are being used. One clear thing however is that this category is extremely luck-based. Mainly due to Raiko's semi-random movement, which is a big component in how well you score. - LoLK Lunatic Reisen 3,663,058,990 by RB. RB gaining 37 million on his current PB! This was achieved during his World Cup match! |
