Figured I'd start a longstanding what are you playing thread.

I'm currently deep into Noctuary which is a cute little Visual Novel + Action game hybrid.
The character designs are pretty cute and apparently the art director is the same person that drew this iconic portrait of Reimu in the water.
I'm actually at a major bossfight near the climax of the story and have gotten stuck there partially because I'm dumb and partially because the combat system in this game is not super friendly. This specific boss is I suspect Touhou inspired since she has lots of lasers and bullet attacks (in addition to more ACT-y usuals like swords and stuff). One of them is this massive laser that has less than 0.5s of warning time, and it's not remotely telegraphed so if you let the boss wander too far away form you at that time you might just take a fat laser to the face. The laser can also kill you from full health if you touch it for about 0.7s so that's fun too.

Besides that (and sort of off topic since this is the non Touhou section) I've picked up UFO again because I want all mainline games cleared on Lunatic before Touhou 20 comes out, but it's been tough going.

After I finish these two I'm probably going to take a break from games in general for the rest of the year, except for Touhou 20 and whatever fangame shmups come out this year.

Maybe I actually am just dumb, because I watched some people clear this boss and they obviously are using a move I know completely nothing about, somehow, lmao.

I'm trying to get back into Rivals of Aether 2, a platform fighting game similar to Super Smash Bros. I am not good at it, at all, but it's still fun to play! I main Fleet... pretty much just because I like foxes.

The small Warioware-like game they released for april fools this year, Dreams of Aether, actually has a direct Touhou reference in it! That was fun to see.

I've been playing a lot of modded Stardew Valley recently. I would say this is like my 5th playthrough of Stardew Valley with this being the 2nd modded one. I'm only barely finishing the first year and my farm is coming together really nicely for when Spring arrives.

On the side I've also been playing this game called Nubby's Number Factory which is this wacky rogue-like pinball game (so image a fusion between Balatro and that one pinball game that was on every Windows XP). It's a bit rough around the edges but recently they put out an update addressing some criticisms so I'm hopeful that it'll keep on improving.
I was also playing Morrowind but I got soft locked by an enemy that constantly kills me the second I open my save and I just gave up.
I have a lot of games (I'm a bit of an impulse buyer) that I just have on the back burner that I promise myself I will play eventually. I should really stop replaying the same old games and get my money's worth from games I still haven't finished.

Guess I'll be stuck playing Heroes of Might and Magic II for the next year because I want to revisit all single scenarios the Gold edition comes with.

Omori: already played this but I want to refresh my knowledge on what happens it. To add something interesting there's also a sort of Touhou reference in this game, a mini boss fight has a music that's composed to be very Touhou like and has the ZUN trumpet. Or maybe it's more of an Undertale reference because there Toby Fox did the same thing with Undyne's music.

Pokemon Yellow: doing a whole run through of the mid-game to get a Kabuto to trade to Crystal because I need Kabuto and Kabutops there for my Pokedex.

Idk which track you're talking about but I think Sweetheart's theme and the Bread Twins' themes are the most Touhoulike in the game. As in, you could pretty easily fit a danmaku boss fight to them. I might do it some day.

I've recently been getting back into Splatoon. I played a lot of 1 and 2 but kinda dropped it around the release of 3. But I recently felt motivated to get back into it, and I've been having fun!

The other route isn't that different at first but notably on the last day you can visit new areas in the dream world. Those have super bosses and they are indeed a lot more difficult than the ones in the normal route.
