Immortal Quest - Ageless Nemesis
« on: February 06, 2021, 07:40:44 AM »
> You are a unique resident of Gensokyo. More specifically, an immortal, deathless denizen of the Bamboo Forest of the Lost. You’re what’s referred to as a Hourai Immortal, someone who will not stay dead, whether you’re eaten alive, mutilated, poisoned, or even reduced to atoms. Your body will simply be restored, as if new. Though, that doesn’t mean you don’t feel pain, so death isn’t exactly a slap on the wrist.

> Unique is a bit of a lie, as there are actually a few Hourai Immortals. Two of them still feud with each other... Which are you?

> The Eternal Lunar Princess, Kaguya Houraisan

> The Undying Human Phoenix, Mokou Fujiwara

> Character Chosen: Kaguya Houraisan.

> You are Houraisan Kaguya, a Lunarian princess now living her eternal life on Earth.
Recently, your subordinate, Eirin Yagakoro, has been working on a drug that focuses on your power and reactions that could come from it. Though a bit dangerous, you are testing it out yourself for her. What’s the worst that could happen to you anyways? It’s not like you can die. The possible benefits could outweigh it anyways.

> To make sure nothing goes wrong in the off chance that something does, Eirin has entrusted Reisen with keeping watch of you. This trusty and cute bunny girl is in fact a deserter of a moon war, who happened to meet up with you and your subordinate in Gensokyo. As happy as she seems outside, she has been a pawn at war, and a pet for some time before. She’s currently Eirin’s student, and does her best in her own responsibilities while under constant harassment of the other hardworking bunny girl, Tewi. While Reisen is invigorating and innocent at the exterior, Tewi is manipulative and mischievous. Despite her faults, she has her wise moments, and is fit enough to handle things you probably couldn’t assign Reisen to. Though, you’d much rather want Reisen with you than Tewi...

> You’ve basically been told to test out your ability among your usual daily activities, if being a bit more active. What better way to do so than to spark the irritation of your eternal bother? A little rabbit has informed you that she’s been hanging out with some fairies recently. She probably wouldn’t expect a visit from you soon. Reisen, however, does have her own business she was going to attend to before accompanying you. Ultimately, it’s your choice whether you follow her instead of her following you. Either way, you’d still be doing as Eirin asked.

> You are in the Bamboo Forest, in your home.

>What are some applications of our power?

>Can we essentially teleport by making our travel time instantaneous?

>What is the latest impossible task/object we've obtained?
> Quests:
> You remind yourself of Eirin's task for you. Though you don't know when it'll be finished. Maybe you just have to keep reporting anything new to her in hopes that she is satisfied. You don't really need to be bothered by anything else. Unless you want to follow what Reisen needs to do too...

> Inventory:
> Naturally, you have the Five Impossible Requests with you. You also have... Way too much of a supply of Eirin's newest medicine for her request. She definitely wants you to explore as much as you can with it...
> You still recall every single one of your spell cards, why wouldn't you? It's not as though people steal the memories of spell cards from others.

> Relationships:
> Nothing has changed from before. You can't be bothered to make a huge deal out of thinking about who you're friends with right now. It's not like you're going to be quizzed. And it's not like you're forgetting them either.
> Relationships:
> You let out a sigh. You swear the future you is going to look back on this and ask why you bothered.
> Eirin Yagakoro is your closest and most loyal friend. She created the forbidden immortality elixir using your powers, and even drank it with you, knowing she would likely be punished by the denizens of the moon as well. Even aside from her skills with medicine and drugs, she's pretty smart. She doesn't like to have as much fun as you, though at least that doesn't mean she can't have fun at all.

> Reisen Udongein Inaba is, well, not quite as loyal as Eirin, but still enough. Her cuteness makes her very fun to mess around with, as it even stays whether she's happy, upset, angry, distressed, and sometimes even in battle. You'd be incredibly upset if something happened to her... Not that you'd admit it to anyone.

> You've already recalled enough about Tewi... She and her carrot necklace are likely off scamming some poor wanderer of the forest. Not that you care much for such. Getting in her way for such would eventually come back to bite you. It has before. It's like she keeps a grudge, despite definitely not acting like it. You don't think she can be replaced, though. She's like a friendly landlady, who you sometimes wonder if they're on your side, but realize such whenever someone not on her side fairs against her.

> Fujiwara no Mokou... She's quite the fun person to toy with. Your goto for killing boredom, there's some things that interest you about her, but you're not willing to delve further into that. Maybe you could have someone else do it for you, but doing it yourself is a definite no. You don't hate her, but she probably hates you. Well, it makes it easier to agitate her at least. Maybe you should come up with something different someday though. You've got infinite time to do such anyways. Surely she won't get bored of you.

> There are a few ways you could theoretically teleport. Travel time isn't something that's automated or guaranteed. There's the destination, the starting point, and the in-between. You can cut out the time in-between all you like, but if you can't move at all, you're going nowhere until that changes. It's probably possible to pass through solid objects with your ability, but you haven't figured out how yet. It might be beyond you yourself. Maybe with this drug, you could figure it out.

> You have all of them with you, as you usually do.

> You look around, spotting Reisen next to your bed, writing something in a notepad as she observes you. Right, she's not just cute. She's hardworking as well. Maybe you shouldn't have reminisced about everyone you know...
> You check your chest in front of Reisen. Both of them are still there, not noticeably bigger than usual. Reisen's got much more, but at least you beat Tewi. Reisen seems mostly unfazed by your flashing. Mostly...

> Eirin just wants you to use your ability as you see fit, while making sure to take the drug, of course. You believe you should be noting anything weird or different to Reisen, or to Eirin directly.

> Even though you got yourself into this mess, you choose to ignore it.

> "Well, you seemed to spend a lot of time thinking just now. And then there was... that..." Reisen starts to look away. "My conclusions are that you tried to use your ability to do something in private, but couldn't manage to... Uh, is that right? Ah, you said sights, not signs. My mistake. Well... so far just a... a couple of things that'll be stuck in my mind now." She murmurs.

> An adult fairy does sound pretty unlikely. They don't reproduce as far as you know, just springing forth from nature itself. Plants and trees grow to adult stages, but fairies never seem aged from what you've noticed, not that you observe them much compared to as little as the average person does. You think you recall seeing a fairy that looked a bit like you, but as she isn't too memorable to you, she mustn't have pulled off your look well enough or was otherwise unimpressive when you last saw her.

> You believe that's it. You rejected those that sought you out because they couldn't even fulfil your requests. They may have become known as the five impossible requests, but one of them should've been capable of accomplishing something impossible for your sake if they were worthwhile...

> Mokou is... bigger than yourself. She at least doesn't mention it...
> You wonder if nature itself or a god would curse you from doing such... They probably could still make an impact on a true immortal such as yourself. At least they can't get you sick.

> "Forcibly age a fairy? They don't seem to grow too much even with age."
> "Well, the fairies I've seen have been cheerful and playful. They don't actively want to harm humans for their goals either. I suppose if you could change those for good in a fairy, then something interesting would happen?" Reisen speculates.
> You aren't sure. One could probably exist already. It's not like you know everything about how a fairy is born or lives. Maybe you need an expert on fairies. But who would even be such...
