New Trailer for Touhou 17.5
(1/4) > >>
Chivler:
I'm surprised there isn't a topic on it yet, it's been out for about a week now.
In a stream by Touhou Station, they showed a trailer for 17.5 if anyone else actually remembers that game...

Here's footage of it on youtube:

Playable Kanako... and Yamame appears too, we're getting a bunch of old faces in this game and I'm all down for it!
I wonder if all of 'em will be playable, like in the fighting games? I'd love to play as Kogasa or Yuugi.
Suspicious person:
The trailer shows that unlike how things were previously, using a spell this time uses up the newly added chargeable vertical water bar instead of consuming a life like before. Trading a life for some damage seemed like ass to me, so I much prefer this change.

Absorbing the water thingies also charges up the vertical water bar instead of giving you life like before, so the game might be less cheesable than how it was previously.
Branneg Xy:
Ahahah Good! Dear ( innocent but  alas still slowpoke)  THANKS to both of you!

(.... TH 17.5... SHoSS/Sunken Hell of Submerged Sorrow... The New TH  "Horizontal Renovated Mostly-Fighting Genre "... with Many Returning Characters in a "Mostly-Fighter Fashion"...
It Really seems to have Slipped by many "views" in here; likely to no re-posting in other MoTK Sub-Sections, The Appropriate Ones in their Own Appropriate Aspects, and" a not enough bridging highlighting return from The Previous Most Active(seeming the Final One...to be a "confirmed share-able") in that MotK's V2 Thread"...
YET it has to Be Tempered by all the Grieving, Opportunistic, Guilty and Connected things, with especially The Remedies during/after, The Much Needed Fair Remedies Ones).

I am agreeing, taking value and interest by your After Playing-Watching-Comparing Successive(Demo) Versions. This means a trending and potential directed to a Developing, Test-Balancing and "Testing-Test Balance-Balancing "(with Ultimate Publishing AND Update Patching) which keep shaping to be functional entertaining fun&challenge
( in more "long-winded" details, it is not Lazy or Near-Sighted in Touhou, Game-Making, Game-Using, Digital Projecting, No-to-Justly Limited Commercialism/Industralizated, etc.).
Chivler:
New demo is out.

I haven't seen much but I'm glad to see Reimu and Yamame as bosses. I hope all characters will be playable, like the fighting games...
In the meantime, I guess I'll listen to the new themes.
Suspicious person:
The music arranges sounds nice, I especially like Yamame's beach theme. Fine work by Ziki_07, if I may say

Anyway, aside from the boss battles, the demo also seems to have a mini-tutorial section that is REEEEAAAALLYYYY structured like a stage section, featuring tutorial mobs, hazards, and stronger mid-boss like mob (or that just represents the end-stage boss). The demos we received contained exclusively boss battles, which made it pretty reasonable to expect the game to be nothing but boss rush. But honestly, this to me still shows the possibility of the game having proper stage sections (which would really make the game last longer)

Tasofro might be mainly known for their Touhou fighting games, but it should still be reminded that they also made Megamari and Super Marisaland before : even if this game's gonna have lengthy boss battles, stage sections should still be something that they are capable of implementing imo

Just imagine this : a good old story mode with the various difficulty setting, a time attack mode, a boss rush mode, an extra mode, a only-one-life mode ... if Tasofro puts not just stage sections but a bunch of challenges such as these, then that would really add a lot of replayability to this game

If there's a small change I'd like them to implement, it'd be on the cutscenes. The girls talking to each other while being frozen in a single immobile sprite for most of the time really seems very awkward to me. Probably use the default idle animation instead or something, that would add quite a bit of life. Other than that, I've also seen a bunch of videos where there's a bug(?) where the bosses AND even the player can get stuck on corners. Hopefully that gets fixed in the final release too.
