Akyuu's 30th birthday

In accordance with the article of Akyuu's birth in Perfect Memento of Strict Sense, many fans have set Akyuu's birthday to be August 7th in the real world. It's also known that due to her clan's unique nature, children of Miare "rarely live past 30".

Today (or yesterday), Akyuu's 30th birthday passed. Lots of people made a lot of fanworks, memes, and things to "commemorate" her, so I just thought I'd start a thread to archive some of the cooler or funnier works I've come across.

I've mainly seen memes on Chinese sites and a bit from YouTube so it's mostly just gonna be posts from there.

I can only attach a couple images per reply so this will be split up over quite a few replies.

One major meme I've seen so far is around "Take no Hana". The work that originally bore the name is a doujin released in 2012 at C83 about Akyuu's family. I hear it's pretty emotional, so maybe give it a try. Though note that there's a small section of R18 in the middle.

Touhou Station is apparently holding a "memorial" on August 24th lmfao. Probably closest to an official recognition of this completely arbitrary date.

Also, I'm seeing some Touhou youtubers get way too serious about the whole OMG SHE'S NOT REALLY DEAD ZUN SAYS CHARACTERS DON'T AGE.

Everyone knows that, deep down, it's just a little memery and fun in the community, relax. It's kinda cool that these sorts of things just kind of spontaneously happen, and because Touhou has such a strong creators' culture, we got a whole load of new fanworks out of it too.

Akyuu's probably gonna go up in the popularity poll this year, lol.

I believe it was Patricia Vanasse who once said:

"Life is delicate, its fragile, it's a precious thing. you never know when you're going to lose it. Live life when you can because you never know which second will be your last."

Akyuu had taken this quote to heart.

Akyuus life only lasted a mere 30 years, she was taken away from us as swiftly as she arrived into our world. But despite this grimn fact which she herself knew, she never gave up and was able to make great contributions to the Gensokyo Chronicle. This new edition has gifted us many new facts about the nature of Gensokyo, from youkai to gods, she has made sure to not leave any detail unrecorded. Akyuu's death is of great lamentation but we must not remember her by her death, but rather by the legacy she has left behind. Many lives have been saved thanks to the Chronicle and I many more will be saved in the future as well. She is truly a shining star in Gensokyo. May Akyuu rest in piece down in Hell working with the Yama and may the legacy of the children of Miare live on.

From my perspective, the Chinese touhou writers are mostly Akkyu's fans,while their productivity is quite high in summer vacation (lol)
