There are a lot more OSTs from video games other than Touhou, so I'm interested to see if anyone else has any specific favorites or just ones that they've enjoyed. I know some people don't really listen to video game soundtracks often, but if you've had a positive experience with one, please share it!
For me, I would say most Super Nintendo games have really enjoyable soundtracks that I often listen to, but i'll make a list of some of my all-time favorites here:
- Earthbound - I really enjoy the funkiness to it and it has some tracks i'll listen to regularly.
- Chrono Trigger - It's such a mystical sounding soundtrack, I really recommend.
- Sonic 1, 2, & 3 - The Genesis instrumentation really helps them, but most of them are really catchy.
- Mother 1 - I wouldn't put this over Earthbound since so many of the tracks are identical, but the songs that are different are really nice.
- Melty Blood - It has a weirdly great selection of tracks, not for everyone but it's pretty good.
- Legend of Zelda OOT and Majora's Mask - A lot of it has a lot of good melodies and I enjoy the somber tones of Majora's Mask.
- Megaman X 1, 2, & 3 - 1 & 3 are the best in terms of enjoyment for me, but I love 2's complexity.
- Any Kirby Game - I like the original gameboy tunes a lot but most of Kirby's OSTs are awesome.
-
I'll just list the first two Fallout games. This music is amazing (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WOjvrPLw9Ws) and more people should know about it.

You put Earthbound and Mother 1 but don't put Mother 3.
I can't choose between Earthbound or Mother 3 at gun point, both OSTs are masterpieces.
(Nintendo, please localize Mother 3)

I love Fallout OST, especially 4's, so much in fact that I'm unironically getting into 40-50's music because of it.
Some OSTs that I think should be mentioned:
•Guilty Gear Strive: Every song is peak, the zenith of vocal video game OSTs.
•Octopath Traveler: Great orchestral music, makes me want to become an opera singer.
•Persona: Especially 4's, followed up by 5's then 3's
•The World Ends With You: Not as good as the others but it has some great gems of music.
Honourable Mentions: Terraria, Minecraft, Halo 3 ODST, Cuphead and Omori

Lately I've been listening to Gunvein OST (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpYeipFZ0kQ&list=OLAK5uy_niwfLM8LuWS6Xz3RB1VCKCxG7XE-G9xD0&index=3). Not a shmup I play (too much bombspamming for my taste) but the tracks are quite memorable. Speaking of games I don't play but like music of, XCOM 2: Tactical Legacy Pack OST (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IxGIiiZf7Gc&list=PLydXsA6zXiitzsl9JBCFsHGYPLeu_Bz8g&index=2) is an awesome mix of old-game-style themes and modern arranging.
Also, classic Doom WAD soundtracks are pretty much their (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pRjlP-Z4Urc&list=PLxg39PZVcnV1FM1TpNS1GSZ1nStligayw&index=27) own (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HShXE23wAIw&list=PLxg39PZVcnV0REwdMuk3u4sXL3QEe7rO1&index=25) genre (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aCV11xKlEL4&list=PL103D7918E9C5376F&index=14).

True, should have mentioned them myself. Here's my favourite non-vanilla song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K2x1dVkTdvc).

EarthBound is one of my favorites as well. Probably my #1 of all time? A couple others I love are Ihatovo Monogatari (https://youtu.be/luZo4Ldcvgo?feature=shared), Wild Arms (https://youtu.be/a6SxF7IllBY?feature=shared), L.O.L.: Lack of Love (https://youtu.be/qQU0kfuWOPY?feature=shared) (R.I.P. Sakamoto-san), Okami (https://youtu.be/UsnJRyTlFb0?feature=shared), any of the Etrian Odyssey (https://youtu.be/7ZzU1Z2y5A0?feature=shared) games, Uncharted Waters: New Horizons (https://youtu.be/Pi8eu2ldrUI?feature=shared), Magic Knight Rayearth (https://youtu.be/6oPIM3WMMvs?feature=shared).... Uh, actually maybe I should stop there!! There's just so many great soundtracks. SNES and SEGA Saturn had the best music, I think.

You put Earthbound and Mother 1 but don't put Mother 3.
I've never really gone out of my way to listen to Mother 3's OST much, but from what I've heard from it it's really good.

I like Louis Armstrong, even though "What A Wonderful World" makes me want to bash my head against the concrete and cry.
I like this one from Fallout 4. (https://youtu.be/ocOgJU0mxbg?si=3ds5Qa5dJKoZpg8t)
I've never really gone out of my way to listen to Mother 3's OST much, but from what I've heard from it it's really good.
You should just play Mother 3(even though you have to emulate it. Nintendo please localize Mother 3). The best way to experience a games OST is by listening to it. "Because I Love You"(The final song in Earthbound when you go back home) doesn't hit as hard if you're listening to it from Spotify or any other music listening thing.
-
Five game OSTs come to mind:
- Minecraft
- Summer Pockets
- Doukutsu Monogatari / Cave Story (haven't finished that one yet)
- Geometry Dash
- Undertale
-
I'm not exactly into actually playing Wario Land 4, but I sure am digging the vibe (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dUozK4yYwOY&list=PLF66A79E6B8451909&index=19) it has these days.

Most of what I listen to is Touhou, but looking through my video game BGM playlist, we also have:
- Classic Sonic
- Corpse Party BD/BR Sample (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sTuEQRZZMU8), Sample 2 (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AbcQWHn6Jk4): Really hyped up music you wouldn't believe was from a horror game
- Danganronpa and Master Detective Archives
- Ace Attorney
- Magic Knight Rayearth SNES, mainly just this track (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gO2X21C4x44)

I've been playing Bullet Hell Monday, a non-Touhou shmup, and its OST is absolute banger https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=soElIkFY_iM&list=PLKbruOo7uQ-CPKhjylrLpPLdqYDrInAt0&index=2

I've played this game before on my previous phone and completed it. It is kinda easy, but Bullet Hell Monday ~Finale~ is actually hard.
-
I highly recommend the soundtracks of System Erasure (https://se-made.com)'s games:
Or just about any Key visual novel.

I'm playing the Challenge/Arcade mode on PC with traditional controls on the highest difficulty and it was kinda hard for me lol. Took like a week on and off of practicing.

Ys, Falcom in general, has the best OST team from all video game developers ever. New Falcom fall short of their old compositions, but there's still some gems here and there in newer game OSTs. Their OSTs started to dip in quality on Sen no Kiseki and everything that follow started to slowly follow that trend. Even though their music now is but a husk of what it was, it's still better to know that they made those OSTs and are still the pillars for (A)RPG soundtrack - if only more games follow Ys, Trails or even Square Enix soundtracks, gaming OST wouldn't be in a all time low and we would have much cooler sound and playing games.

I'm not a big fan of how most soundtracks are these days. Many games have followed From Software ideas and don't even implements songs at all, just ambient sounds which are really boring and kinda of removes that sense of reward to go into a new area and have insane songs blasted towards you; it just gives that much sense of adventure to a game. I don't think most games even make sense to be so soundtrack-less like that. Games should continue to put more and more emphasis of making you feel rewarded for finishing a boss and song are one of those ways.
Perhaps, I'm going a little overboard and overthinking, maybe even going a little off-topic here, but I can't really just keep these things for me and me alone. Hopefully someone finds this glabbing nice and also enjoy some Ys songs.

There's a truthnuke for the forums, lol. OSTs are so important for gaming, I agree Sen no Kiseki was the beggining of the music quality going down (some of my friends attribute this to Singa the composer lol. Also ambient only music annoys me. BotW and TotK are like that, they have like 3 tracks you'll remember and maybe one epic song, but most of the time you don't hear anything. I want what was there in like, A Link to the Past or Ocarina! I enter Death Mountain and the Star Wars empire song plays, I want that.
One of my favorite sound tracks of all time is the one for Fire Emblem 4. Here's a select few that come to mind.
Chapter 5 - Gates of Destiny

Also mention of Trails and no apparent mention of Silver Will? I must change that!
Silver Will
https://youtu.be/d-7zjsM5nQA?si=kiP4oE-S5BdeOKFs
(I might return to here because often I'll remember a track to share and go "How didn't I think of that one?" so, lol.)

Of course. I'm not much of a Trails person, I'm much more inclined to everything action related. I but graze most Trails stuff, OST is one of them. I do appreciate Trails, Sora especially, OST and how the composition is so tightly put together - remakes of these songs as well.

That's fair. Yeah Sora has a beautiful OST. It makes me nostalgic despite only having played and beaten it around 2021. Zero and Azure have great OSTs too.

Some of my favorite game OSTs:
- Pokemon generations 3-5
- Minecraft
- Zelda series
- Earthbound
- Undertale

It's a nice surprise to see some love for Ys soundtracks here, aha. And one of the first to come to mind to me outside of touhou itself, in fact....
I have too many games myself that I absolutely adore and enjoy the music of, but I'll name just a few favorites that first come to mind:
Ys VIII: Lacrimosa of Dana
https://youtu.be/HvBla5NUlvk?si=-lYm5r3NLjvoIgQz
This was my first ever Ys game, and even the first boss and over world music took me by complete surprise. It made me fall further in love with musics that combine both Guitar and Violin instruments too.
Goemon's Great Adventure / Mystical Ninja 2 Starring Goemon
https://youtu.be/W7ajs6GLTYg?si=Wn9EYy-n1smqUOvV
Goemon was one of my early 'Very Japanese' games before Touhou project, and the old Japanese style influences ooze through this soundtrack. They really pump you up as you transition through parts of the levels, with the music often evolving and changing along with it as you progress too.
Sonic Adventure 2 / SA2: Battle
https://youtu.be/VXeIRsqqFbA?si=EeJyfS3GGr11vaRe
...I think this one needs little introduction. And perhaps it may be my nostalgia, but the music always stood out for me the most with this game in particular within the series. It introduced me to some interesting genres of music as well- particularly with industrial rock.
The legend of Zelda: Links Awakening
https://youtu.be/4X6UqQDmjBk?si=tlAgf-KPHpxoDIwm
While the Nintendo Switch remake is good, I tend to gravitate towards the original Gameboy/Gameboy Color OST even more. Something about this games music within the dungeons especially feels so mysterious, which is fitting for the dream-like themes presented in this game. And it's so well orchestrated on the Gameboys sound font.
And a little bonus mention for Secret of Evermore. While I haven't played too much of the game itself, the soundtrack is absolutely astounding....and I cannot pick just one single track to share.

I also really love Super Mario Galaxy OSTs, I remember playing those games when I was child, I have so many good memories !
Honestly there are so many OSTs I love, I'd say most of my favorite video game OSTs come from either Nintendo or Indie games. I also really love Castlevania OSTs.
-
I lack a favorite save my most mentioned, but just for the topic, “Mt. Itoi,” from EarthBound Beginnings.
On this thread, for this line of thought, I like many Victory Road themes, in particular that from Alola, a region contained in the Pokémon world.

Oh yeah! Mario Galaxy was awesome! The game still feels new even though it came out forever ago haha!

jeez so many umm ...
Skyrim
Assassin's Creed: Valhalla
Red Dead Redemption 2
eXceed3rd (if you know this game let alone have played it we are automatically friends)
Dragon Age Inquisition
Fallout New Vegas
Yume Nikki
Stardew Valley
... and likely much more but those are the games that have songs i still think of or hum to myself sometimes
