What was the old MoTK like?

(1/1)

I'm pretty new here.  I've been a fan of Touhou for a few years but no one I know in real life really knows about it, so I went looking online for internet communities and found this forum.  This is supposedly the most active English Touhou forum, and I think it's really cool, but frankly it seems like it was much more active a few years ago, and has mostly died down.  It seems like most Touhou-related discussion happens on social media, like Twitter X and Discord.

That's all well and good, IMO, nothing lasts forever, and every website eventually passes into fantasy.  But I'm still curious about what it was like in the "good old days", since I'm too young to have had experience on the internet with traditional forums.  Any veterans here with any memories?   :lend:

Also there are a lot of cool text tools and stuff

motk 2 is still up, you can still go and browse all the threads.

One of my favorite parts of classic forums is that everyone's bad takes are archived forever, lol. Go read the Ten Desires launch thread on motk2 if you want some popcorn material.

A bit sad that everyone is on Twitter and Discord now. When those services die (not if), all the conversation and discussion is going to be lost forever.

It is also still possible, provided you were a registred not-bot not-banned user, to log-in and check-in all the "details and contacts and awards and registred-user(few)sections" for the registred users.
