Youkai Mountain has become shrouded in pure darkness...
A couple ,or three, questions,if you please, and thanks for your efforts.
Is this the GM-set starting situation?
Yes.
Are the conditions going to be set after the 1st player posting?
Not really. This game can get very stupid.
Can the players ask the GM "insights(deeper descriptions or explanations) about the any past situations, the current situation, their conditions?
Sure. Although right now the setting is just "Gensokyo on a peaceful day minus start of incident."
Haven't checked the forums in a while....
Would we just be playing as ourselves in Gensoukyou?
>Be a Fairy, from Gensokyo.
//Though to add: Are our actions limited to touhou related things only? Only asking due to the thread title and because said previous RtD I participated in had almost no limitations regarding whether or not it had to relate to touhou whatsoever. (Aside from everything taking place in Gensokyo of course.)If you can roll it, you can do it. (Although it might hinge on if I know it as well, so I may shoot DMs looking for explanations)
> Be Aya Shameimaru.[1]
Gotta make money off this by writing an article!
Oh hell yeah, backup plan successful.
> Check out what Aya's been doing using our phone.
>Sneak into the darkness-covered Youkai Mountain. No one suspects a stage enemy (in cosplay) of being an incident resolver!
>Fetch my flashlight
>Be a random kappa engineer.
>Be a kitsune youkai.
>Use engineering skills to construct a fully functional replica of the Battleship Halberd from the Kirby series to use as a mobile base of operations.
>Convince a zashiki warashi to help me and use my body as a home
>Search for a WW2 jeep
>Scan the mountain with the Halberd's systems.
> Go visit Momizi in person.
> Kiss Aya.
>Drive like a madman to youkai mountain
>Build a Heavy Lobster to add to my minion forces. (Assuming one is not present already within the Halberd.)
>Speak to Momiji
>"What I'm wearing is a fairy disguise (cosplay)! I'm just going to sneak in, because no-one suspects fairies, find the culprit, and Resolve the Incident!"
>"Now, if you could just let me through, White Wolf?"
>Change the tire
>Upgrade Light Lobster with a powerful shield generator! Why have heavy armor when an energy barrier can provide better protection anyway?
>"Fair. En garde!"
>Summon a beam of searing light from The Sun.
Crimony, three 1s in four rolls.
> Try finding Momizi again.
>Create an orb of light.
> Praise the sun.
>Hold a funeral aboard the Halberd for Light Lobster.
>"Yikes! That oughta hurt. So, uh is that enough proof, White Wolf?"
>Convince Momiji to let me in.
> Head to where Momizi is and heal her.
> Have my zashiki warashi soul hold up the jeep while my human body drives
>Look for frogs.
[4]
You find one! And it's drivable! With gas in the engine!
You. I like you.
[X] (Story Action!)
Your scans are not returning remotely the results you would expect from Youkai Mountain. They are returning signs of a large land within the blackness...
[1]
You get lost and manage to find Aya instead.
"Say, if it isn't my rival in reporting. You just couldn't help yourself and had to come here too, huh?"
[3] A touching tribute. Without a body, but a touching tribute none the less.// Well and alright then! Just for a few, hopefully more directly-involving :directly involvement-wise with moderate indirect experience and spectacting;light-rp cooperation-play and parallel-play... fun and insightful test&test "...//
[4] "Ghhhh...that...that hurt...you may pass...but...be careful up there...we lost contact with the Tengu Village when the black mist descended..."
[3] You reach her, but...you seem to be missing...uh...any way of actually healing the poor girl.
"Are you just here to cause trouble...?"
[2] Nope. It is not a good wheel.
[5] Ooh! Frogs! Quite a few of them! And Cirno! Who's in a good mood!
> Kiss Momizi.
>Replace the wheel with a wooden one
>Build a long range teleporter to facilitate fast deployment of minions to and from the Halberd.
>"Sorry about that. Bye now."
>Walk into the Youkai Mountain
>Flip Celestia alignment

(Non-Command Roll) > ... ! ... ? (Non-Command Roll)
>Ask Cirno what she's doing.
//Too late to join, I take it?
Nah, mate, just jump in with an action. RtD is chaos.
//Righto, I get to join in as any character, right? If so, put me down as Patchouli! :cirnotan:
You gotta roll well to get what you want though. Just ask Hatate, who wanted to be Aya.
//>Sees all of Branneg's post get parsed.
//Wait we're allowed multiple actions per turn?
You are, but if they're conditional on each other, a bad roll can botch a chain.
>Dispatch (via teleporter) a small squad of the robo-knight crew to the foot of the mountain on a reconnaissance mission to gather data on what lies beyond the blackness.
Man, no luck for tengu love, huh.
> Fuse with Momizi so we become a single tengu with the combined power and abilities of both her and ourselves.
>"...Okay, this is definitely not Youkai Mountain. Wha- a Zombie?! Not even a Jiangshi but a Zombie? Is the culprit of this Incident a necromancer? I've always wanted to face those."
>Shoot a focused beam of light at the Zombie.
>Seethe with dignity
//Ight, like this?[6] You are **Patchouli Knowledge**. Your asthma and anemia are a major problem but you are one of the most powerful maguses the world has seen. You are still confined to the SDM on Sakuya's orders after your last asthma attack.
> Be Patchouli Knowledge.
Huzzah!
> Make for Youkai Mountain so we can smite the evils lurking in the darkness!
>Drive to youkai mountain
>Turn on polka music
>Show Cirno a frog.
>Try drifting in one of those eldritch directions that make people seem to disappear or clip through objects
>Have my youkai spirit try to fix the radio
>Search the jeep for weapons and crosses
The playerbase apologizes that the GM was watching the New York Mets, presumably forced to do so against their will.
> Use our long-distance vision AND our spirit photography powers to find and head toward Aya again, but sneak up on her this time.
(> Mental check: What does our Momizi half think of Aya?)
(> Physical check: What do we look like now?)
>Ask Cirno "What did you do that for?"
>Start writing a new book on magic.
>Call out for Sakuya so she can bring you some tea.
>Repair the teleporter.
>Use the Halberd's systems to scan Gensokyo in order to determine the location of Rika. (https://en.touhouwiki.net/wiki/Rika) Would be nice to have another engineer on this crew, after all.
> Surely this must be fate! Ask the locals about any evils that need to taste the righteous might of the Sun.
>"Wait, that castle... I-is that Remilia's Ancestor? This is getting a bit more serious."
>Attempt to escape the zombies.
>Attempt to determine the source of the Zombies.
Wow, that's a world record for the Hamiya% speedrun category.I feel like this is my fault, and not just the dice...
I feel like this is my fault, and not just the dice...
Wow, that's a world record for the Hamiya% speedrun category.
(> Mental check: What does our Aya part think of the current arrangements?)
> Scan the sky with our snazzy special vision powers for what's making those engine noises.
>Dispatch a scout party of robo-knights with the teleporter: Mission - Gather data on space beyond the blackness.[5] They return swiftly with news of zombies, a blackened earth, and two castles in the distance. What...?
>Fine, we'll recruit a different engineer then. Use the power of illogical engineering and mad science to summon Dell Conagher (https://wiki.teamfortress.com/wiki/Engineer) as a crew member!
>Act like I meant for that to happen
>Try to convince a troop of fairies that pulling my jeep around will be fun.
>Make a cross
>Ask Koakuma if she can find Sakuya, since you can't leave the library.
>"That's not a frog silly, just my hand. Do you have any idea what's going on around here?"[6] "I thought I saw Rumia earlier...she ignored me and headed for the mountain. Oh no! She might be in danger! I'm coming with you!
>"...Huh, the very ground seems to be tainted. I sure hope that floating castle isn't the source of this cursed ground(!)"
>Run back into the fight against the Zombies with Philosopher and BrannegXY.
>"Everyone, fight with whatever you've got! Even that pistol can be useful with no ammo!"
>Create a barrier of light around myself.
> Point sword at the airship and leap at it with as much righteous fury as we can muster.
> Those engine noises and that airship can wait! Indulge our Aya part and give ourselves a good ol' eyeful of ourselves.
>Have Engie start upgrading the Halberd's defenses.
>Use the teleporter to summon Satori Komeiji to the ship and give her an offer to join its crew.
>Send some robo knights to establish a forward operating base inside the blackness.
> Take stock of our surroundings and ascertain the evilness of this airship.
> Do the only other thing you can do right now. Wait, and try getting started on that grimoire your writing.
>Use the cross and a prayer to bless the land[4] Please hold.
>Use the power of faith to repel the zombies
>Aid Philosopher and Pray to bless the land.[2] . Roll was lower. Proceeding with the 4.
>Look for Rumia with Cirno.
I am in the middle of my exam right now. I'm just posting this to say certain people had explanations added to their posts, and a full update may come after the exam's completion.
(Thank you. I had a feeling that was the case. Also, sorry, I had to toss that in when it came to the 2 I rolled and I wasn't sure how to have that action fail.)
> Patience... Is Koakuma back yet?
//SCV?
DM Comment: https://starcraft.fandom.com/wiki/SCV_(StarCraft_II)
>Introduce Okuu to Engie and give them free time to invent something.
>Scan the Halberd interior with its sensors for Koishi. She may hide from minds but she can't fool technology.
>Ask Satori what she thinks of the blackness and the implied land beyond.
No one's making this AO when the forum rules specifically forbid on-site NSFW. <_< I was just trying to indulge Aya's stated desires; apologies if it seems like I was trying to do any more than that.
(Thank you. I had a feeling that was the case. Also, sorry, I had to toss that in when it came to the 2 I rolled and I wasn't sure how to have that action fail.)
> Report to Boss Iizunamaru and find out what we should do next, given the circumstances.
>"Huh, you know about Elbereth? Then again, this party is weird. We have a Cosplaying Human, some sort of Zashiki-Warashi/Human hybrid, and a Programmer. Let's just ignore common sense, and fight some Zombies."
>Attempt to pray to a God associated with The Sun.
>Create an area of searing light throughout the entire horde of Zombies.
>"I knew about the Valar and Eru, but providence gave me the name."
>"Here's hoping Reimu doesn't find out I was pure human."
>Have my Zashiki-Warashi spirit begin punching zombies.
>My human body looks for bullets and supplies on the corpses
>"She can't be too hard to find in this darkness, right?"[1] You mean like all those turned zombies running towards you?
>Listen for any unusual noises.
> Head for the bridge. We must ascertain the captain's intentions.
Tengu Village is on Youkai Mountain, yes.
>>If the above roll is 3 or less, ask Satori to do the same, citing our bad feeling.
I don't think this is a legal move. Because it hedges against the dice being rude, which goes against the spirit of the game.//Fair enough. I edited it in that case. Is the new version better?
//Fair enough. I edited it in that case. Is the new version better?
> Oh crap! Sprout another pair of arms so we can wield our sword, shield, and two cameras all at the same time!
>"Is that a nephilim zombie?!"
>Have my spirit try to brand the name Elbereth in the boss's head using my faith.
>My human body siphons the gas out of the jeep
-> then ignites the zombie with the gas.
>"...Is it too late to say sorry?"
>"A giant, huh?"
>Use a beam of heat and light to slice off one of it's legs. Hopefully it loses balance.
>Ask Orin to chaperone the eggheads to keep their tinkering from damaging the ship and/or us.
>Actually it may be prudent to ask Satori to do that too. Do that as well.
>bring up the security feed from the lower decks.
>Use the power of gacha pulls, teleporters, and illogical engineering to expand my quirky crew further by summoning Fischl (https://genshin-impact.fandom.com/wiki/Fischl) from Genshin Impact.
> Great. Ask Sakuya if she can get you some tea, so you can relax a little.
>Roll for a companion fairy[1] You are a fairy!
>"At least I have something that can help me." Draw a sword and prepare to defend myself.
>Ask Cirno if she can freeze some zombies.
> Onwards! Surely we'll get to the bridge eventually!
(I'm gonna need you to play Fischl.)//So I'm rolling for two characters now if Im interpreting that right?
> Who do we consider ourselves at this point, anyway?
> Use our two cameras to take pictures of the giant zombie from a distance.
>Summon other fairies to help me.
>"Can you freeze them or something?"
>Have my Zashiki-Warashi half try to clip the boss part way into the ground.
>My human half bravely flees from the flames.
> Drink your tea slowly, and continue writing the grimoire.
//So I'm rolling for two characters now if Im interpreting that right?
//EDIT:
>Observe intruder via cams, do their actions seem hostile?
>Try to absorb the fire from the ground.
> Head up them stairs.
> Wield our sword cautiously but non-threateningly. After all, things don't seem evil.
> Continue in our attempt to head as high up as possible. Surely the higher up we go, the more likely we'll find the bridge!
//Well didn't receive a yes or no so I'm just gonna do what I think you want me to do and edit if you correct me lol
(Desa)
>Has that SCV dude done anything yet?
>Keep an eye on that camera feed.
>Have some robo-knights give Fischl a tour.
(Fischl)
>Be given a tour of the ship by some robo-knights.
> Finish your tea and put the book on one of the bookshelves. You don't normally get bored, but it looks like today is one of those rare days. Although, the peace is nice.[2] Oh no, you spilled your tea!
>Try to put out the flames
>Try to track the magic of the zombies back to their source
> Switch to our sword and shield, close in, and hack at the giant zombie's face! (Two-thirds of us have always wanted to be good at melee...)
>Think of a way to sneak around the zombies.
>Ask Cirno to hold them off in the meantime.
> Ask Sakuya to help clean up.
> Something feels off... Try and relax a little. If that's possible, since your already as relaxed as you can possibly be.
(Desa)
>Build another one of those SCV guys to assist the first one.
>Ask the egg pawn where it came from.
>Prepare a table and tea for our potential guest.
>Gently ask Orin to break away from her catnip real quick and help out with the table thing
(Fischl)
>Implore our dear Oz to spread wide his wings of darkness such that his raven eyes may gaze beyond the encroaching void that dares to smother the unfortunate souls inhabiting this world, for is it not within our sacred duty as the Prinzessin der Verurteilung to lend assistance to our potential subjects? Furthermore, the information locked away behind this veil of mystery is surely to be beneficial to our current retinue.
>>Oz: "She means send me to scout out the darkness covering the mountain..."
> Head in the direction the sign indicates!
>Tell Cirno to continue freezing the zombie.
>Sneak around behind it and beat it with a baseball bat.
> Slice through the wrist of the hand holding Philosopher down! Even if humans shouldn't be here on the mountain, they don't deserve this!
>Have my Zashiki-Warashi half go Jojo and punch the zombie off my human body
>My human body tries to dig itself out from under the boss
>Grumble at the lack of fire to absorb.
>Help Philosopher get up from under the boss.
> Odd. Try taking a nap, or think about other things.
>Roll to safety and resume my plan of bashing the zombie from behind.[2] You...just sorta lay there.
> Issue an apology to Philosopher as the injured is carted off.[3] The dice are mean today. You fly back up towards the zombie, but... [5] The zombie smashes a fist into you!
> Fly back up and stab the zombie in the face!
>"Nani?!"[6] You have spun forward and smashed your foot through its massive head. ...You are also now stuck. A little help?
>Spin forward and land on the boss with a kick
>Summon my youkai spirit to use lasers on the massive zombie
>Apologize for the impromptu flight test.[5] You have grabbed the torso of the giant zombie, preventing it from taking another step.
>Approach and grab the Giant Zombie.
>Then use Sacred Flame! (https://darksouls3.wiki.fextralife.com/Sacred+Flame)

> "I was told this ship appeared after the darkness fell over the mountain, so I wished to see if it was an evil that had to be smitten with the righteous fires of the SUN."
>Attempt to get up and resume my plan while the zombie is still distracted.
> Push back on the fist with the combined strength of three tengu!
>Keep up the flames! Rev it up!
